This site runs its own analytics

samuel-torres.com uses a small, self-hosted analytics system built by Samuel — not Google Analytics, not any third-party tracker. No data from this site is sold, shared, or sent to any other company. It exists only so Samuel can see which pages get read and roughly how many people visit.

What is collected

• The page you visited (its path) and its title.
• The referring page, if any (where the link that brought you here came from).
• Your browser's language setting.
• A one-way hash computed from your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the current date — not your IP address itself. This hash cannot be reversed back into an IP, and it changes every day, so it cannot be used to recognize the same visitor across different days or to identify a specific person.

No cookies are set by this tracker, and no data is read from or written to your browser's storage. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, this site's script doesn't send anything at all.

Why it's collected

Solely to understand which content on this site is useful and to get an approximate visitor count. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any decision about you individually.

How long it's kept

90 days. After that, the records are deleted automatically by a scheduled job — nothing is kept indefinitely.

Who can see it

Only Samuel, through a password-protected panel. This data is never shared with clients, employers, or any third party.

Your rights

Under Mexico's Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), you have the right to Access, Rectify, Cancel, or Object (derechos ARCO) to the processing of your personal data. Because this system stores only a one-way hash rather than an IP address, there is no reversible personal identifier tied to your visit for Samuel to look up on request — but if you have any question or concern about this analytics system, write to [email protected].
